Library barcode labels

The use of barcode labels results in speed and accuracy at a central lending and return point. However with our library software, barcode labels and/or library barcode scanners are optional as you can alternatively type in the unique item number when using the loans / circulation functionality.

Use your existing library barcode labels

Our systems usually support the recognition of your existing pre-printed library barcode labels for books and borrowers. Ask us to test one if you are not sure. If we are carrying out your data conversion, we will import your existing barcode numbers into your new system and you can carry on using your existing library barcode labels.

Produce your own bespoke library barcode labels

We find that many customers want to add more detail to their barcode labels, such as ownership marking, brief title, volume, classmark and location. For this reason we also support the production of customised barcode labels from our systems. This requires Avery software on the workstations where you wish to produce barcodes - usually the cataloguing workstation.

Library barcode scanners

Library barcode readers (laser scanners) provide speed and accuracy when dealing with large volumes at work stations used for checking stock in and out. This can help either in self-help stations or controlled lending scenarios.

We offer a hand held laser plug and play scanner with an AT keyboard wedge. USB connection available.

Library security technology - electromagnetic or RFID

We also offer library security systems that will protect your library stock easily and efficiently, whilst allowing self-service loans. We can supply security gates, biblio chips and other security accessories using electromagnetic technology, RFID technology or hybrid library security technology.
